I started gardening when my children were very young and I began to understand the joy of working with plants and the pride of achieving seed to plant to plate.
However, I also began to enjoy the planning and layout of my own garden and realised how much impact this had on me and I started to design, purely for fun, for family and friends.
As I began to get more requests for ideas and help, I realised that I could turn my passion for gardening and design into a business. I realised I wanted, and needed, to know more, so I studied for 2 years at Otley College and obtained a Diploma in Garden Design.
This then lead to my working on a number of very large design projects for some private clients, with which to start my growing portfolio.
I began to refine my thoughts and ideas as to what I want to offer and feel that top of my list is to LISTEN to what the client wants and translate their ideas into a reality that is their own. I also like to create children’s spaces which will blend into a family garden, be it a sensory garden or play area.
I love the beauty of nature and compliment that with the use that of hard landscape design with lighting and water to create a beautiful and functional space that will evolve over time.
I am now delighted to be showcasing my work in 2017 at both the Hampton Court Palace and Sandringham Flower Shows, whilst simultaneously caring for client’s gardens locally. It’s a very rewarding balance.
